Heat treatment

For optimal material properties

The heat treatment process generally means to change or optimise the microstructure of the material to:

  • enable the following production or machining processes (fettling, cutting and machining)
  • adjust the mechanical properties of the material (hardness, strength, toughness and microstructure)

Here the castings are under the influence of temperature treatments of different times. Therefore our heat treatment department may use the optimal furnace like oil-, or gas furnaces with different dimensions. The required properties are maintained during processes like normalising, austenitisation, quenching, tempering or  stress-relieving annealing.
